Beijing, the capital of China, is not only the politic center, but the culture and business center as well. The visit to Beijing could give you a glimpse into China's rich historical past. Here you can tour the Forbidden City, the old lane "Hutong" left from the past, the untouched Great Wall. On this trip you will visit the best selection of Beijing's most impressive and important sights. We will also show you a side of the capital usually only known to those who live here.
Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Hotel to Beijing 798 factory, Lhama Temple, Confucius temple (L)
Drive to 798 factory. The "798" is located in the Dashanzi area, to the northeast of central Beijing. It is the site of state-owned factories including Factory 798, which originally produced electronics. It became a "Soho-esque" area of international character, replete with "loft living," attracting attention from all around. In the afternoon, we will visit Lhama Temple; also called Yonghe Lamasery is the best-preserved lamasery in existence in China today. And then visit Confucius temple, it consists of four courtyards. Transfer to hotel.
Day 2 - Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Jingshan Park (L)
Today we will take Hutong tour, visit Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Jinshan Park. We will walk across Tiananmen Square and then visit Forbidden City. Just out of the North gate of the Forbidden City is the Jinshan Park (Coal Hill) where the last emperor of Ming Dynasty hung himself on one of the tree. We will climb the hill for a spectacular view of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. In the late afternoon, we will take a tour of Old Beijing on rickshaw. In this tour, rickshaws will take you shuttling around the Hutongs to see the Kingdergarten, Drum Tower, Tea House, Shichahai Lake and the local people. We will get an idea of what the entire city once looked like, and experience the 'old' way of life. Then drive back to your hotel.
Day 3 - Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tomb (L)
Your guide will meet you at the lobby of your Hotel. Instead of the tour to Badalin Great Wall, we will drive further to Mutianyu Great Wall. Visit Mutianyu Great Wall (two-way cable car, approximatively 2 hours), and then drive to Ming Tomb (Changling Tomb and Shenlu-The sacred way). OR / if you are hiking lovers, you could choose hiking from Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great. The distance is about 10km. it takes about 4 hours to do this hiking.
Day 4 - Summer Palace, Beijing Zoo and Silk Market (L)
Today we will visit the Summer Palace, a summer retreat built by the Qing emperors. The Empress Dowager Cixi rebuilt the park in 1873. Amongst the additions is the infamous marble boat, permanently located on the Shore of Kunming Lake. Have a look at the Silk Market. Acrobatic show in later afternoon
