Fishing in Onon River

For the ones who love fishing, Mongolia is the perfect destination in September and October.
You will go fishing in the Onon River which flows approximately 300 kilometers along the slopes of Burkhan Khldun Mountain in Mongolia before it crosses the Russian border and joins the Ingoda River.
Take you chance to fish lenok, taimen, sturgeon and pike.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 Beijing- Ulaanbaatar -

Take your flight from Beijing at 8:30 and arrive in Ulaanbaatar at 10:50, Mongolia’s capital city, and transfer to the hotel.

Hotel: Stay at Bayangol hotel (4*)

 

Day 2 Ulaanbaatar - Chinngis - (B)

Today transfer from Ulaanbaatar to the camp Genghis (410km).

Hotel: Camp

 

Day 3 - Day 7 Onon River - (B)

Starting from today spend four days fishing in the Onon river, one of Mongolia’s rivers and home to lenok, taimen, sturgeon and pike.
Important events from the ancient and medieval history of the Mongols occurred in Onon river.The river flows from the northern slopes of the Khan Khentii Range to the east, where it joins the Amur River before emptying into the Pacific Ocean.

Hotel: Camp

 

Day 8 Onon river - Ulaanbaatar - (B)

Today you will go back to Ulaanbaatar.

Hotel: Stay at Bayangol hotel (4*)

 

Day 9 Ulaanbaatar - Beijing - (B)

Take the flight at 11:50 and arrive in Beijing at 14:00.

  • Flights:Beijing-Ulaanbaatar-Beijing
  • All land transportation,
  • Accommodation in the countryside and in the city with 4 star hotel standard hotel,
  • Meals during the fishing trip
  • Guide, interpreter, and sightseeing in the city,

  • Rods and other fishing equipment,

  • Excess luggage, over 55 pound per hunter for domestic flights.

Remarks:

  • For Taimen is only catch & release fishing. For other species is catch & release fishing free, but max 5 species per day.
  • We suggest you bring sunglasses, a summer hat that fully protects your face and neck from the sun, sunscreen lotion, rain coat, rain boots, mosquito creams, flash lights and a personal medical kit.
