Your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 1400 for a short transfer by tuk tuk to our electric powered bike station.
After a short briefing to explain the use of your new vehicle, it will be time to start your responsible travel discovery of Luang Prabang... in a quiet way!
Start your city tour at the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, where you will explore the history of Laos. Continue your ride to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, and Wat Sensoukarahm, which features a beautiful dazzling golden façade.
Then return to the bike station to drop off your electric bikes and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Option: Petanque Party- End your day with a traditional game of petanque with the locals. As the sun sets over Wat Prabat Tai, you'll join the local players and try your skills at this sport- a favorite pastime of the Lao people. They will cheer you on and give you hints as you play a few games and enjoy snacks and drinks. A great time for adults & kids with great local interaction opportunities. Approximately 4USD/person

Day 2 - Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfall - Luang Prabang (B, L)
Optional: For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. It is a beautiful, serene ceremony that highlights the spiritualism of the Laos people. Return to the hotel for breakfast.
Breakfast at the hotel.
Pick up at your hotel for a short transfer through the Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls (32km southwest of the city). Along the way, you will drive through beautiful landscapes of rice fields, hills, and small villages. There are also many viewpoints overlooking the Mekong River.
Stop en-route to visit a small village which is home to one of the area's many ethnic minorities. You will have an opportunity to learn about their traditions and culture, much of which has remained unchanged for centuries.
Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfalls, relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. The water tumbles down a large drop and cascades gently in to several cool, clear pools where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.
For the adventurous, it is possible to walk to the top of the falls via a steep track where stunning views await you. Kuang Si waterfalls also hosts a rescue center for sunbears which aims to raise awareness for the protection of this endangered species.
Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch next to the falls before returning to Luang Prabang.
In the afternoon, visit the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre for insight in to the countries various ethnic groups and traditional crafts. This tour will provide you with information into the wonders of Laos, enhancing your understanding of this little-known country and its people. (NOTE: closed on Monday).
At the end of the day, climb the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside.
In the evening you will have the unique opportunity to experience one of Laos' oldest traditions: The Baci. The purpose of the Baci, which is a mix of Animist and Buddhist beliefs, is to call back escaped spirits to the body. This is something that is very important before major events such as weddings, births, travel, welcoming friends and farewells.
This evening we recommend dining at The Blue Lagoon. This simple, yet charming café serves a large mix of local and western dishes that the whole family will love.

Along the way stop at the Pak Ou Caves. Locally referred to as Tam Ting, these two caves are carved out of towering limestone cliffs and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. The Buddhas range in size from a few centimeters to the size of a human. The caves are as well a destination for local pilgrimages.
