From May to September, during the rainy season in Myanmar, Meta IV sails from Burma to Borneo, following the old Spice Trade Route travelled by merchants and adventurers over the centuries.
Our
cruise will take us from Burma to Phuket in Thailand, continuing
through Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, all the way to Sabah in
Borneo - and back.
This is a journey of discovery and adventure
through the heart of Southeast Asia. Expect ancient port towns, World
Heritage Sites, national parks and gorgeous waters.
On this cruise you will explore the entire coastline of Sarawak, Malaysia’s largest state. Along the way, you will discover its coastal towns, laze on beaches, sail up one of Borneo’s largest jungle rivers and visit Brunei, the only sovereign state completely on the island of Borneo.

Hotel description
Meta IV was designed by the naval architect Thomas E. Colvin, who gave the vessel her beautiful shape and robust hull. She is made entirely of Thai teak, one of the best woods for building classic boats.
The boat has four guest cabins, each fully air conditioned with ensuite bathrooms and electric toilets. Two of the cabins boast queen-size beds, while the other two feature twin beds.

Location description
Your departure city, Kuching, is the capital of Sarawak and the former seat of the “White Rajahs”, a dynasty started by an English adventurer. Nowadays, it is famous for its bazaars and mouth-watering food. Then we will sail up the Rajang river, which winds its way through some of the world’s oldest rainforest and through the homeland of hundreds of tribes.
Back on the ocean, we sail past endless beaches, stopping wherever our fancy takes us. Miri in northern Sarawak is near five national parks and is a hub for nature enthusiasts.
Then, we head to Brunei, this small sultanate that grew super-rich on its oil and gas reserves. Despite its prosperity, Brunei is mostly covered in rainforest and fringed by pristine beaches and coral reefs.
We end our long cruise on Labuan, just north of Brunei. The blue clear water around these idyllic islands is home to one of the world's richest coral and fishing grounds. Labuan has also one of the best wreck diving sites in Asia. Recently, Labuan won the UN’s clean beach award. It is well deserved!
Facilities description
Meta IV measures 85 feet in length or 25 metres. That's longer than the Santa Maria, the boat that Columbus sailed into history when he discovered the Americas. In fact, with all her space, you could almost forget you were holidaying on a yacht
Behind the cockpit is the kitchen. The entire aft of the boat is shaded and fitted with multiple dining spaces and sunbathing areas. The boat's centre is dominated by the generous galley and saloon dining area.
